well, after much bellyaching, after much deliberation, and after much i-can't-get-to-sleep-because-the-bloody-neighbours-are-vacuuming-their-grass-yes-really, here i am again doing the website thing! and i'm glad to be doing so. very much! i keep having these moments wherein i want to express something on twitter, mostly because i've been privvy to... eh, decently inflammatory sonic tweets, given my opinion on that series. and i kept lamenting: god, i can't fuckin' actually say all that i want to, because of the poxy character limit! well! sod character limits! sod twitter, even! can't be frustrated at the arbitrary character limit if i don't engage with it! hell, who needs the internet?

alright, maybe that's a bit far. but the point is! i've very much been looking forward to re-engaging in the humble art of being a web maiden (not least of all because the name sounds totally awesome), and i hope to provide! at the very least, what i plan to do is mirror my backloggd reviews on here, because i have been increasingly frustrated with the behind-the-scenes of that site and how utterly boneheaded the moderation seems to be. mine certainly wasn't one of the afflicted, but i'm quite pressed by the fact that they were deleting a lot of even legitimate yakuza kiwami 3 reviews, just because they were chalking it up to people "review bombing". okay, one - do you really think that the critical weight of backloggd matters that significantly to where you need to do clean-up? it's like if rateyourmusic attempted to be moderated; it's just a bit pathetic and you're getting ideas above your station. secondarily, it also led to virtually any review that paid the matter lip service for any longer than a sentence being deleted, too! and that sort of implicit protection of predators is something that i want to frankly distance myself from. hence the website! i'm likely going to keep putting things up on backloggd, just by virtue of it being a lot more accessible to some, at least for the forseeable future, but something tells me, given how the community is shifting and how the moderation is being rightfully demonised for finding allegiance with... let's just say, questionable ideals, i earnestly will be stunned if it survives to the end of the decade. shit, with how some people got up on their high horses about the option to mark a game as watched and not played, you'd think it was dead yesterday.

however, it won't just be game reviews here, no sirree bob. i also intend to - gasp - discuss other things! that might entail further thoughts on games i already reviewed, general musings about shit as it hits me, opinion pieces, whatever takes my fancy, really. it might not always be of the highest quality, shit, it might not even always align with what you wanna see, but i do at least guarantee that i will be authentically me throughout these posts.

all that out of the way! welcome to bluntyard! frankly the name was cool and that old german hip-hop outfit seems to want to fold into non-existence, so Freakin Yoink.
