half-life - 9/10
the best one and its not even close
i am sure that many will disagree but this is frankly the best half-life ever was, to me. i find myself frequently replaying hl1 to kill time, or just to have a bit of fun, and i feel as though i can do that without fear of running into any given section that makes me feel immediately frustrated or bored, unlike other games in this franchise.
i far prefer the tone of this original entry than any other, especially before gordon was jesus in glasses and he was just A Guy, which is far more interesting and captivating to me from a character perspective, and far less patronising as a player.
