metroid prime 4: beyond

metroid prime 4: beyond - dnf

a disappointment 18 years in the making. but enough about what my family said to me when i came out

an hour and change in so far and im having literally every single one of my woes confirmed to me like points on a checklist. i will try to come back to this at a later date when i am not in a terrible headspace about it because if i try to keep at it now its frankly guaranteed i am not going to have any degree of objectivity over it because it is just soul-destroyingly upsetting to me at present. 18 years for it to repeat mistakes from prime 3 and other m, whilst introducing new, corporate-cynicsm related ones. fuck, man, i can do nothing but give it a wide berth and just hope i cool down enough to come back to it and see it on its terms some day. i went in with low expectations and came away shockingly disappointed already. metroid a-la halo 4

additionally, it is so depressing to see any and all criticism of this game being written off as mere grifting, or being largely heralded by 'fake fans'. i truly wish that my criticisms of NPCs being back from prime 3 werent being lumped in with people who hate them as part of a culture war mindset, and that my opinions werent immediately maligned due to some people disagreeing with them. its maddening to see

side note, this is to date most liked backloggd review with 37 likes, all of which largely poured in inside of an hour. everybody hates this dogass game 🥀
