superhot - 6/10

super. hot. soup is. hot. every time i cleared a level i got the reward of stimming

short, snacky and succinct. fittingly, in accordance to the narrative, it is hypnotically addicting. i just kinda locked in for the hour and twenty minutes it took me to breeze through this game, and did so happily at that. the gameplay is a stellar time, i could happily play these almost puzzle-shooter conundrums time and time again, with great joy taken. the metanarrative backdrop ties a neat bow on the package, giving somewhat of an interesting background whilst threading you through a sequence of increasingly brain-tickling shootouts, slowly implementing more components until the grand finale which i thought was pretty neat, if a little underwhelming due to how this game really is quite awfully short. hoping that i can get some more out of the challenges and endless, but as is, the campaign is short and sweet, just perhaps leaning a little too much on that 'short' side. really fun still though! of the ways ive killed an hour this year, this is definitely one of my favorites haha

'my mind is software' goes unfortunately quite hard to me. awesome
